Communications and Brand Specialist (Virtual Position)

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a Communications and Brand Specialist to join our Creative Fire team. Your work will support our branding projects, inform and engage target audiences, and help deliver our clients’ strategic objectives. The Communications and Brand Specialist will work collaboratively with team members, partners and clients to understand strategic needs, develop solutions, and create concepts and content. Our ideal candidate should be a self-motivated, multi-skilled, imaginative communicator with an eye for detail. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and is driven to exceed expectations.

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Work closely with creative and communications teams to develop content and solutions for a wide range of clients. 
  • Take a lead role in researching, writing and editing a wide range of compelling communications materials and content, working across all platforms and channels.
  • Propose copy concepts and solutions to Creative Fire colleagues and leadership.
  • Interpret creative direction and adapt points from creative briefs into persuasive copy concepts.
  • Deliver content strategies, competitive scans, content audits, social media plans and editorial calendars.
  • Utilize earned, paid, digital media and PR tactics to achieve strategic communications goals.
  • Help develop the brand voice for a wide range of clients.
  • Develop content strategies and information architecture for web projects.
  • Load, update and manage website content. 
  • Help curate content and conduct research for RFPs.
  • Contribute to a team peer-review process to ensure all content meets Creative Fire standards.
  • Demonstrate creative thought leadership, keeping ahead of trends and providing proactive inspiration and recommendations.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • At minimum, 5 years’ progressive experience in communications and content creation, preferably in an agency setting.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities or businesses.
  • Degree in journalism, creative writing, communications, marketing or equivalent.
  • Expert written and verbal communicator, with the ability to articulate brand concepts, and write in a wide range of voices and styles.
  • Extensive writing and editing experience across a wide range of mediums and channels, and an understanding of the differences and requirements of various mediums.
  • Proficient in content marketing theory and application.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of digital communication.
  • Highly creative and solution-oriented, with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Experience working as part of a cross-functional team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Forward thinking and in touch with current trends.

JOB SUMMARY

We are seeking a consultant/senior consultant to join our Creative Fire team. You will lead project delivery and work with our team to evolve our strategic consulting practice. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

In our world, each engagement looks a bit different. As a trusted advisor to your clients, your responsibilities will include: 

  • Working with clients from a variety of sectors to assess needs and understand strategic goals
  • Working with leaders to set and drive problem solving approaches for all client engagements for which you are involved
  • Assessing and understanding clients’ key issues by conducting peer reviews, current state assessments and synthesizing findings
  • Providing process and recommendations to support clients in determining and understanding most appropriate levels of engagement 
  • Facilitating stakeholder engagement sessions, focus groups and discovery workshops 
  • Developing strategies and tailored recommendations
  • Investigating and defining operational improvements
  • Building relationships with clients at multiple levels
  • Providing support and mentorship to junior colleagues
  • Contributing to the growth and development of our Sustainability and Reconciliation Action Plans practices, as well as to the broader Creative Fire strategy  
  • Supporting and leading internal practice development (e.g., thought leadership/IP development) 
  • Finding opportunities for innovation and partnership
  • Assist in development of nuclear/energy communications
  • Build and sustain relationships with external stakeholders.
  • Develop, coordinate, and implement communication and engagement strategies
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of communication and engagement activities
  • Analyze, summarize, and report on qualitative and quantitative data
  • Supporting the submission of proposals by drafting content specific to RFP engagement requirements
A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOU

As a Consultant/Senior Consultant, you are a high-performing and dynamic candidate who has a successful track record as well as the following requirements: 

  • Self-identifying as Indigenous and/or having first-hand knowledge or experience living in and/or working with an Indigenous community will be considered an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of and interest in Indigenous issues in Canada, including Indigenous governance, community development, the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples, and the Truth and Reconciliation Commission Calls to Action
  • A strong academic record with Master’s or comparable graduate degree preferred
  • At least 2-4 years of experience in professional services (e.g., consulting) or in an internal strategy/transformation role
  • Past work experience in sustainability, ESG, climate change, energy or Indigenous engagement preferred
  • Past project management experience preferred 
  • Strong quantitative (e.g., financial analysis, business-casing, ability to work with data sets) and qualitative (e.g., stakeholder engagement, literature reviews, reporting writing) aptitude
  • Exceptional intellectual horsepower, including strong critical thinking skills, analytical abilities, and the capacity for lateral/creative thinking
  • Experienced with project problem diagnosis, solution development, client communications, managing client expectations, project delivery and team leadership
  • An entrepreneurial spirit and ability to work independently
  • Forward thinking and in touch with current sustainability and Indigenous engagement trends 
  • IAP2 training would be considered an asset
  • Understanding of the uranium and nuclear industry would be considered an asset
